THE ART OF PERSISTENCE- Professora Pava͂o
When I walked into Benca͂o Capoeira and met Jessica, within minutes I knew she would be a One woman rising Honoree. There was something about her. There was a strength and love in the way she and her husband lead the class and a close knit, supportive community that was hard not to notice. At the time, I wasn’t ready to do the interview so I didn’t mention it.
Jessica’s story was rich when I met her as you will see in the interview, but became richer as you will learn in the years that followed that lead us to coffee one day.
I hope through this interview you will see a woman who persevered and it will inspire you to persevere in whatever ways you need to today.
Thank you for being a part of our community.
Please join me in celebrating Barbara, our One woman rising Honoree, and watch how her generosity, energy, and heart has not only changed many people’s lives but also gives us all hope in the future and in the impact that just one woman can make.

This is a very special interview for me not only because it’s my first video interview, but mostly because I’m interviewing the woman who was the inspiration behind having an Honoree each month and giving 30% of our profits to the Honoree’s non-profit of choice.
Last spring, I heard Harmony speak on the foundation she started Treasures, a unique faith-based (survivor lead) outreach and support group for women in the sex industry, including victims of commercialized sexual exploitation and trafficking.
You will see and feel clearly in this interview why Harmony was the inspiration.
